Belated Birthday Blogging

I've been busy.  Here a project, there a project. . . . (everywhere a project, project).  It's like we were livin' in the Projects.  But I took a break today and wasted some time, which was reeaaalll good for my mental well-being.  It's highly underrated. . . time-wasting.  More on the projects later--'before and after' style.

Today, I'm sharing some 1st birthday pictures of my 'not-so-much-a-baby anymore' boy.  Well, as long as he will curl up in the stinkbug position while I rock him, he will still be my baby.

And I think male handsome-ness runs in the family (insert *wink* to Rich).

Aaaaand. . . . . we're done.

Here's when I notice a general trend of avoiding direct gaze at the camera and the same "no-expression" expression.  Yep, he's one of ours then!

I spent a little time making a cake for him to smash.  Kind of turned into the Wonder Bread cake on accident.  Anyway, we discovered in the great tradition of Wilcox kids, he doesn't much care for cake.  What is that all about?  So, no really good cake shots.  But here is the cake, just for fun, in case anyone has a need for ideas if you are doing a Wonder Bread themed birthday party.  I'm sure there are just oodles of you out there.

And since we are talking about birthdays, I just had one.  How old, you ask?  Well, let this card from Owen give it away:

I love being twenty-seven. . . . again.

That is so funny! 27 is an odd number to stop at. I just had a birthday and my kids said "mom is 29, again!" Somehow when you have a daughter who is 22 it just doesn't sound quite right anymore!

Your son is as handsome as the rest!
