Twins, Separated by Four Years

Lately, we've noticed a strong similarity between Owen and Ryder. They don't look too much alike, but they have very similar personalities. Both genius goofballs (no bias on the genius part), they don't like to be told about things. They like to try it out for themselves.

Here, we have Owen at age 2. He had recently gotten over a case of conjunctivitis ("pink eye", which my optometrist brother-in-law will say is not a real term) and decided that he needed one more dose of eye medicine. It just so happened that we also called Desitin "medicine", except we meant medicine for the bottom region. To him it was just what his eyes needed. This is how we found him--and he didn't get Desitin anywhere but his eyes. Miracle.

This is Ryder at age 2 (yesterday, in fact). He loves to have his hair done--he knows what looks cool. He called to me from the kitchen and said, "Mom, I have a mohawk!" He had used half a container of "hair goop" (a cross between Elmer's Glue and hair gel, in my opinion) on his hair. Looks good, don't you think? At least it wasn't Desitin--I think that might be a little difficult to get out of hair.

And, just a side note. Don't you think it is funny (and a bit of a blessing) that in this wonderful world of blogging, we reach for our cameras first and then discipline or clean up? My kids are thankful.

I'm just going to say it again. You are an amazing photographer. I'd pay you to take pictures of my kids. I love the twin shots--hilarious and that t-shirt he's wearing cracks me up.
