We'd Like to Thank the Grandpas

You know how some people say that they want certain things for their kids that they didn't have? They probably are referring to a loving home life, financial security, self-esteem. . . you know, things like that. Well, I always wanted blue eyes for my kids. I know. . . . shallow. But, hey, I always wanted blue eyes growing up and never got 'em. I got some sort of green concoction. In fact, I wanted them so much that I sank to the levels of getting colored contacts. Not really for the vision, but for the color. Totally shallow. The shame of it all. But that was in junior high/high school and we all regret things about that time . . . . I'm regretting the fact that I didn't own a pair of tweezers back then. I had some sort of eyebrow toupee going on. Or is it a small animal? Seriously. But look at my beautiful friend, Heidi (and her nice eyebrows).

Anywho, our last three have been our 'Little Boy Blues', inheriting their good eye color genes from the Grandpas. Good job, Grandpas! Oh, don't get me wrong. . . we love our Owen and Olivia, too (as well as all those 'non-blue' eyed people out there. . . we're one of you). We just love the sparklers our last few came with. Check them out.

Shar!!!!! What did I do to you! I thought we were friends!!!! Just kidding! That picture was a serious blast from the past. What was I thinking wearing my makeup like that. I think my eyebrows needed some help too!!! What fun times we had together!!!!!!

See, I always envied the green-eyed lot because it's so rare...and a green-eyed brunette? Fuhget about it!

Genes are a marvel, though. Not only do you have one blue-eyed boy, but three! And Crystal Blue, at that!!

I remember Molly taking her tweezers to my eye brows one night late on the couch. I've never looked back, but seriously, that wasn't that long ago which means you and I had the same sort of eye brow thing going on for too long.
And I am loving the blue eye shadow on Heidi!
Your children are all beautiful!

Your kids are so cute! I wanted to get green contacts when I was in Junior High, how scary would that be? I think your eyes are beautiful just like your kids... even if they aren't blue. ;)

I wish someone would have told me about tweezing or waxing back in the day as well! I had some eyebrows too! This was a cute post!
